The water vacuum cleaner is gaining popularity in China. We aim to design a product for the startup Future Cat, addressing the challenge of large-sized floor cleaning machines. The innovative design combines the "clean water tank" and "sewage tank," significantly reducing the overall machine size. Additionally, a detachable handheld vacuum cleaner enhances versatility, providing more usage possibilities. How does it work
Design Goals
Our goal is to achieve the same water storage capacity as existing products while reducing the overall product volume. This aims to make it possible to clean more challenging and hard-to-reach corners of the house that are typically difficult to clean during regular cleaning activities.
Open the combination tank and take out the silicone flexible sewage tank.
Twist open the sewage tank lid.
Pour out the wastewater.
Close the sewage tank lid and add clean water to the fresh water tank.
A novel design is proposed, combining the "clean water tank" and "sewage tank" into one unit, resulting in a substantial reduction in the overall machine size.

Functional prototype demonstration
While in use, any spilled clean water will be drawn into the silicone flexible sewage tank. We conducted tests using a motor from an existing product, and observed that the suction could expand the silicone flexible sewage tank. Therefore, our design is proven to be functional.
